Live performance is at the heart of Amaleen, and the opportunity to share this music at festivals is a real honour and privilege. The show can range from intimate, solo voice-and-piano performances to a lively 5-piece band, with audiences invited to sing along, discover harmonies, and become part of the music. Alongside developing the live project, Lizzy is working toward bringing these songs into the studio and shaping them into a recorded body of work.

Bio
Lizzy Clarke is a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, vocal coach, and music educator whose work brings together the warmth of folk, the harmony and improvisation of jazz, and the soul and groove of contemporary pop and R&B.
A professional musician for over 20 years, Lizzy’s musical life has taken her from Toronto to Cairo, Berlin, and stages across Japan. She began developing her musical voice while living in Egypt, where she attended Cairo American College and performed internationally as part of the International Honour Choir in Berlin and Cairo. She later returned to Canada to study Contemporary Music at Humber College, earning a Bachelor of Applied Music with a focus on vocal performance and composition.
Lizzy has built a diverse career as both a performer and collaborator. She was a lead vocalist, songwriter, arranger, and member of the creative team behind Toronto-based funk and soul band The Spandettes, performing internationally and touring extensively in Japan. The band released Spandex Effect, Sequin Sunrise, and Live at 3030, with Sequin Sunrise supported by FACTOR and the group developing a strong following in Japan, including performances at venues such as Billboard Live Tokyo. She has also performed with Toronto soul and Motown band The Intentions, as well as a range of other musical projects including Lizzy & the Pretty Boys, ELSY, and her solo work.
Alongside performing, Lizzy has spent more than 15 years teaching voice, piano, songwriting, improvisation, and musicality. Her teaching and performance practices are deeply connected: she is fascinated by how musicians find their own sound, communicate with an audience, and create music collaboratively.
After stepping back from performing and songwriting during the pandemic, Lizzy moved from Toronto to the Haliburton Highlands in 2023. The move sparked a new period of songwriting and led to Amaleen, an evolving original music project inspired by the landscape, community, and creative life of her new home. The project combines soulful vocals, jazz-influenced harmony, folky textures, playful lyrics, and a strong sense of musical curiosity.
Amaleen is intentionally flexible as a live project, ranging from intimate voice-and-piano performances to a 3–7 piece band with a bigger, groove-driven sound. Lizzy also brings her love of participation and musical discovery to the stage, inviting audiences to sing, find harmonies, and become part of the experience.
Now based in the Haliburton Highlands while continuing to maintain strong connections to Toronto, Lizzy is developing Amaleen through local performances, collaborations, and community support, with plans to bring the project to new audiences across Ontario and beyond.
