About The Project
I moved to the Haliburton Highlands in 2023, not knowing how profoundly my life would change. The move reignited my creative spark and brought me back to writing music after more than five years away.
From that new beginning, I launched a project called Amaleen.
Songs From Seed To Bloom
Amaleen is an evolving recording project that follows each song from its earliest form to its final studio recording.
Every song is released twice. First comes an intimate acoustic demo—written, performed, recorded, and produced by me—shared on YouTube and Bandcamp. Later, each song is reimagined with live musicians and released as part of the full Amaleen studio album.
It's a chance to experience the songs both as they begin and as they ultimately become.
Stage 1: Acoustic Singles
Amaleen is a lake near my new home. The name of this project reflects the landscape that has shaped this music and the sense of stillness, change, and reflection that runs through the songs.
The first stage of the project consists of a series of acoustic singles released on Bandcamp and YouTube. These recordings were done casually in my home studio with only a piano and my voice. If you listen closely, you can even hear the cats stomping around in the background.
These demos are not the final destination. They’re the first sketches of songs I hope to eventually bring into full studio arrangements with a larger ensemble of musicians who can be properly paid for their work. Your support helps make that possible—funding studio time, collaborators, and the process of turning these songs into their fullest form
These recordings are available for free on YouTube (youtube.com/@LizzyClarkeMusic) and on Bandcamp (lizzyclarkemusic.bandcamp.com). If you’d like to support the next stage of these songs’ lives, you can contribute to the recording fund by purchasing it on Bandcamp for whatever price you can afford (suggested $1, but always pay what feels right—or nothing at all, as the track remains free on YouTube). Any funds raised directly support the next phase of the project by helping fund studio time, collaborators, and fair compensation for the musicians who will help bring these songs into their full form.
Stage 2: Studio Album
The second stage will bring together a core group of musicians to reimagine and record the final versions of each song. Once funding is in place, we’ll enter the studio to build the album collaboratively. If resources allow, I also hope to include string, horn, and choral arrangements to expand the record's sound and depth. The goal is simple: make great music with great musicians, and let the arrangements grow as far as the songs can go.
From there, the plan is to bring the music to the stage and share it live.

"Sure Thing" is inspired by the songwriting of Joni Mitchell, the fearless self-discovery championed by RuPaul, and the wisdom of Khalil Gibran; it's a reflection on the beautiful complexity of being alive. We spend so much of our lives searching for certainty, only to discover that love, purpose, and even ordinary days are far more complicated than we imagined. But perhaps that's the point. The struggles, contradictions, and unexpected turns don't stand in the way of a meaningful life—they're what shape us into who we're meant to become.
